Early Fall Hiking

The leaves are just beginning to hint some fall changes, as is the air.  Reid has been busy foraging for the last of the season's "beee-oos" (berries)--he's still finding them.

We went for a hike up Eagle's Bluff in the Clifton, ME area.  And spotted an airplane:

There was a lot of cool fungi.
Liam and Reid shared bites of an apple as they hiked.
At the top:
 Tim found a cicada:
It turned out to be very cooperative.

Dancing on the cliff edge:

Liam found a very trusty tool (which fortunately came equipped with soot) and got to work sawing with it.
Reid was fed nothing but grubs for dinner.

  1. Goodness! Reid's face is sooo tan! and his hair is so fair--for now! And feedin' him grubs. Looks like he is upset with the rice, veg pollution and was just told that there are no more grubs to spare. Poor child.

Soot tool--hum, what does a 4 year old do with it? Writing on papyrus sheets or applying face-paint soot as a beard, maybe.
