Friday's snow.

Our brand-new and beautiful walkway!

A walk through the woods to see a play in town.

The play was a Christmas Carol.

Afterwards, we were ninjas, and we stormed the local burrito shop!

Reid was chosen from the audience to play a one line role as tiny Tim in the Christmas Carol. The crowd melted when he said "may God bless us, everyone."

Modesta's baby is 1!

Modesta's daughter, Damaris Mikayla, turned one last month.

Heri ya siku ya kuzaliwa! (I think that's how you say "Happy Birthday" in Swahili--notice the writing on her cake is in English).

Snowvember second.

When we woke up this morning the kids said "it's snowing it's snowing!"  Sure enough, amazingly the trees are already covered in snow. We only just made it to Quaker meeting,

then had friends over for lunch, the power went out, we made a wood fire, and quietly watched the snow build to 12 inches!  Then, we built unbelievable snowman and an 8 foot tall igloo.

Yes, a real igloo with nothing but our hands and gloves! 

We are sure the snow will be gone too soon, but it's been a wonderful dream!
